Salome Zourabichvili attended a pre-inauguration party for President Trump, which took place in Washington on January 17.
Photos featuring the fifth president of Georgia at the event were shared by Zourabichvili herself as well as by U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson.
She is set to attend Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20, having received an invitation from Congressman Wilson.
During the event, Congressman Wilson introduced Salome Zourabichvili to key figures in the incoming administration, including U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Donald Trump Jr., the son of the president-elect, referring to her as the legitimate president of Georgia.
Following the pre-inaugural reception, Salome Zourabichvili posted on Platform X, stating that she had "conveyed the urgent request of the Georgian people to key figures in the incoming Trump administration: the need for new, free, and fair elections."
"I had the honor of attending the pre-inauguration reception of the GOP at the invitation of Donald Trump. I used this opportunity to convey the Georgian people’s urgent plea to key policymakers in Trump’s incoming administration: the need for new, free, and fair elections" - Salome Zourabishvili wrote.
