A panel discussion on the ongoing processes in Georgia was held at the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C. The event featured Congressman Joe Wilson, Laura Thornton, Director of the McCain Institute's Global Democracy Programs, former U.S. Ambassador to NATO Kurt Volker, and Hudson Institute Senior Fellow Luke Coffey. The discussion opened with online participation from Salome Zurabishvili, who addressed the audience by stating that she was "not the former president of Georgia, but the legitimate president."

During the panel discussion, Luke Coffey responded to the Georgian Dream's campaign regarding the possibility of opening a second front, noting that it was a piece of nonsense.

"I want to address one point very clearly: This is this nonsense about the global war party pushing Georgia to open up a second front. I guess, to say this as clearly as possible—if I could say it in Georgia, I would, but I can't. I'm going to speak very slow English. Nobody in Washington, DC—no serious policy maker, lawmaker, or commentator—has ever once suggested that Georgia should open up a second front against Russia or use military force to get back the two occupied regions. This is a notion of fear that the Georgian Dream has used to frighten the Georgian population, to make them believe that the only thing stopping Russia from invading Georgia, or the only thing stopping Georgia from getting into war with Russia, is the Georgian Dream government. And this is nonsense. Nobody wants this in Washington; nobody's asking for it," - stated Luke Coffey.
