In a press briefing on October 3, U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller reaffirmed America's support for Israel, while emphasizing the importance of establishing an independent Palestinian state as part of a long-term solution to the region's insecurity.

"Israel is a nation under terrorist threat, but also, ultimately we want to see the establishment of an independent Palestinian State. Absence of Palestinian state in no way justifies terrorism against Israel and Israeli Civilians. We are also aware that the absence of Palestinian state is one of the major drivers of insecurity and instability in the region and we continue to believe the best way for Israel to achieve its long-term security in addition to all the benefits it would bring to Palestinian people, is the establishment of Palestinian state." - Said Miller as a response to Journalist's question regarding Israeli Occupation.

Miller  also noted that the current Israeli government has expressed different views on this issue:

"Current Government has made it clear that they have very different views on this question. We will make clear on behalf of the US what we believe is in their interests and in broader regions' interests."
