US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan says Iran’s missile attack against Israel "appears to have been defeated and ineffective."

"There will be serious repercussions for this attack, and we will coordinate with Israel to ensure that happens,” Sullivan said during a press briefing.

He emphasized that the U.S. is now focused on determining the next steps to secure American interests while promoting regional stability as much as possible.

Iran fired nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel in tonight’s attack, and that US naval destroyers joined Israeli air defense units in firing interceptors that shot down inbound missile.

Sullivan praised the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for their professionalism in preventing the missile strike, crediting "the skilled efforts of the U.S. military and the thorough joint planning that went into preparing for the attack."

“We are proud of our joint efforts with Israel to protect and defend the nation,” he added.

Sullivan also expressed condolences to the victims of a terror attack in Jaffa, as well as the casualty in Jericho from the Iranian missile strike.
