The statement issued by the State Security Service of Georgia states that, according to their information, groups related to political circles are planning to distribute falsified video and audio recordings installed through artificial intelligence and other modern technologies in the days before the upcoming parliamentary elections in Georgia.

According to their information, the voices and video images of the representatives of the Georgian authorities will be used in the aforementioned fake recordings.

The agency explains that the purpose of spreading the said false information is to provoke a confrontation between the branches of the government, as well as to start a fight between the government and the Orthodox Church and to worsen the relationship between the government and the Western partners.

"The main goal of the said provocation is to artificially create and stir up the protest momentum, to create hubs of destabilization in the country, which will ultimately be used for political purposes,” reads the SSSG statement.
