According to information from the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) and data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia, 73,700 Russian citizens stayed in Georgia in 2022-2023.

"According to data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia, in the last 10 years (2014-2023), 815,608 Georgian citizens emigrated, and 265,000 fewer returned to the country—550,919 Georgian citizens. In 2022-2023, 118,000 more Georgian citizens emigrated than returned to their homeland.

At the same time, 73,700 Russian citizens stayed in Georgia for residence. Of the 163,480 Georgian citizens who emigrated in 2023, 70% (114,438) are under the age of 30, including 43% (70,003) who are children under the age of 15. According to UN data, 861,077 people born in Georgia lived in exile in 2020. Taking into account current dynamics, their number is projected to increase to one million by 2024," the organization noted in its published data.
