The President of Georgia, Salome Zourabichvili, spoke to Georgian TV "Pirveli" about the current assessment of Georgia among partner states following high-level meetings held in Europe. She noted that these countries "have many questions regarding the moment when the government that came to power in 2012 changed."

"It suddenly changed, and it actually became [the bearer] of Moscow's orders or instructions, or at least plays and dances to their music. It's hard to explain. I don't know how to explain it either. I don't know what's going on in whose head, who depends on whom, or why, or what the invisible threads are that connect some people with Moscow or certain circles there. The fact is that Georgia has been following Russian scenarios for two or more years now," the President of Georgia said while speaking to the journalist.

In response to the question, "Maybe there has always been such a government, they just masked it before," the President answered, "Maybe."

"We can't comment on what we don't know. We're speaking from a place where the facts, laws, and behavior towards people begin," said Salome Zourabichvili. She also discussed the pre-election banners of "Georgian Dream," comparing them to the Soviet era.

"Today, I heard that they are walking around the neighborhoods saying that if we don't win on October 26, Russia will bomb Tbilisi in two weeks. With those billboards showing the tragedy of Ukraine and our pretended happiness, whose hearts should be won, and who should be liked in Georgia," she added.

The President of Georgia also emphasized the main purpose of her visits to Europe, stating that at a time when the country is preparing for elections, she wanted to ask European partner countries that after the people's choice in the upcoming elections, the country should quickly return to the path "from which the Georgian Dream took it".

"I wanted, at this very moment when we are preparing for elections, to find out and ask them that when the people of Georgia speak their mind and confirm that they remain in favor of Europe, they will quickly return us to the path from which the "Dream" took us. I received confirmation that the path is only momentarily stopped, and that's all. It's up to us; no one will interfere in anything before the elections," President Zourabichvili said.

During the interview, the journalist inquired about the details of the meeting between the President of Georgia and Michael Carpenter, Senior Director for European Affairs at the National Security Council, within the framework of the Warsaw Security Forum. In response to the question, "Did you have a conversation with Michael Carpenter about Washington's action plan in the current situation?" the President of Georgia replied, "Of course, we discussed it."

"There is a parallel approach, the MEGOBARI Act, which, although it is an initiative of Congress and not of the administration, reflects a mutual approach towards Georgia by both parties, Democrats and Republicans. Therefore, the hope that if the government in the US changes, we will sort everything out is false. The approach of the United States is clear, and it is written in the document: if you continue like this, you will face restrictions, which have already started, and sanctions are being prepared. However, it takes time to ensure that it is well justified. All this will happen, but not before the elections, so that no one says that they are interfering in the elections. In this regard, the Europeans and the Americans are very careful," said Salome Zourabichvili.

In response to the clarifying question, "it was mentioned that Ivanishvili won’t be sanctioned before the election?" the President answered that "No one would have said so clearly, but she had kind of that feeling".

"Then everything is clear. There are two ways: a MEGOBARI ACT or when you are alienated and no longer belong to the circle of friends who have been helping and building institutions for 30 years in Georgia," added President Zourabichvili.
