According to the European Union Ambassador To Georgia, Pawel Herczyński, as a result of the anti-Western policies of the Georgian Dream party, the EU institutions have decided to suspend high-level meetings with representatives of the Georgian government.
"What I can tell you is that in June of this year, we had internal discussions with our member states on how we should approach the attitude of the Georgian government, which we view as unfriendly towards the European Union. We also discussed how to address the anti-Western and anti-European narrative, propaganda, and conspiracy theories. As a result, we, as the European Union, decided not to have any high-level contacts with the current Georgian government. This is why, over the past few months, there have been no high-level visits to Georgia and no high-level meetings with Georgian government representatives in Brussels. I repeat once again, the EU institutions have decided to suspend all high-level meetings with Georgian government representatives," said Herczyński.
Herczyński also stated that if Georgia becomes a one-party state, bans the opposition, or fails to protect human rights, it will not be able to become a member of the European Union.
