The U.S. Embassy clarifies that the U.S. has not imposed sanctions against Bidzina Ivanishvili and his family members: "The U.S. has not imposed financial sanctions against Bidzina Ivanishvili or his family members. All financial sanctions are publicly announced by the U.S. Department of the Treasury," stated the embassy in a statement sent to Radio Free Europe on October 3.

The television company "Formula" reported yesterday, October 2, citing a source, that access to bank accounts has been restricted for Bidzina Ivanishvili's children living abroad, with banks reportedly having "completely suspended" access to some of the accounts of Ivanishvili's family members, while in some cases they were transferred to a "special operating regime with limited financial resources."

"Formula" has not published information regarding the official sanctioning of Ivanishvili or his family members.
