The United States Embassy in Georgia posted a photo on social media addressing recent events, stating that "Georgia's isolation from the West goes against the interests of its people."
"Countries cannot develop in isolation," the embassy writes.
Context: For the past few days, the U.S. Embassy has been responding on social media to Georgian Dream's anti-Western propaganda. Yesterday, on October 2, the embassy denied Georgian Dream's claim that the NGO ISFED attempted a coup during the 2020 parliamentary elections. On October 1, the embassy also published a post responding to the case involving Ivanishvili and Credit Suisse, noting that "the money related to Credit Suisse is in the hands of the courts in Bermuda and Singapore, not America."
