The President of Georgia, Salome Zourabichvili, met with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in Brussels. Von der Leyen posted on social media platform X:
"Dear President,
I have great respect for your commitment to Georgia's European path.
Our meeting comes at an important moment — the upcoming elections will be a crucial test for Georgia’s democracy.
This is also a defining moment for the future of EU-Georgia relations."
Context: Earlier today, Salome Zourabichvili also met with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. Recently, the President has visited several European countries. In France, she participated in the premiere of the documentary "Before Bucha, There Was Abkhazia." In Germany, she held a meeting with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and just yesterday, she was in Poland for talks with President Andrzej Duda.
