According to the statement from the administration, during the meeting held in Berlin, Salome Zourabichvili and the President of Germany "discussed the pre-election environment in Georgia, which is influenced by Russia, as well as the Georgian diaspora, which faces artificial barriers to participating in the elections.
The president also addressed the issues concerning non-governmental organizations in the country, particularly the challenges they face in carrying out monitoring missions. The President of Germany welcomed the Georgian President’s initiative on the 'Georgian Charter' and expressed hope that pro-European forces would prevail in Georgia. Steinmeier offered his full support to the Georgian people and their fight for a European future," the statement reads.
