The head of the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Georgia calls on international organizations, including IRI and NDI, to publicly disclose information about the grants they provide. During a meeting with the media, Razhden Kuprashvili emphasized that the neutrality and objectivity of organizations monitoring the election process are crucial, and events financed by them should not be used to support political parties.
"In the ongoing election process, the activities of international observation organizations are of the utmost importance. Therefore, we appeal to all organizations, including NDI and IRI, which should represent objective observers in the elections, to ensure the transparency of the grants you provide. This is essential to ensure that the funded events are not used to support political parties. Neutrality and objectivity are crucial for election monitoring organizations. To maintain the standard of financial transparency in political campaigns and to ensure that citizens can make informed choices, the Anti-Corruption Bureau has made the following decision: until August 31, 2024, all electoral entities must present documentation showing their financial situation for the first eight months of the current year. Information about violations detected by the Anti-Corruption Bureau will be reported to international organizations, and we hope that all these facts will be reflected in the monitoring reports. The Anti-Corruption Bureau is ready to advise all political parties and help them comply with the requirements of the law," says Razhden Kuprashvili, head of the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
