The President of Georgia, Salome Zourabishvili, noted at the press conference that she invites Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder and honorary chairman of "Georgian Dream", to the debate. According to her, Bidzina Ivanishvili should explain "why he deviated from the course" and "put the country into isolation."
"The main thing is not that I didn't answer; the main thing is that Mr. Ivanishvili didn't provide any answers to his community. He didn't tell them anything or explain why he suddenly deviated from our government's course, which we know is only an executor, causing such damage. He put the country in isolation, weakened this united country. No one forgets the days of receiving the candidate status, the joy, and happiness among the people when everyone congratulated each other. He trampled on all of this to introduce some senseless and unnecessary law. Did he say anything to anyone? We only know two words from him, which are hostile to our partners and society. What kind of style is this from a person who is either on the outside, but no one can understand where he is, what he wants, why he wants it, and what he is doing to this country?
According to the president himself, he is ready to invite Bidzina Ivanishvili to a debate, and "one good debate awaits us" ahead.
"I am ready and invite him to the debate. If he does not meet me personally, he should come to the debate because he considers himself and is considered to be the main ruler. I am the first person of the state, and then let's discuss some things in the debate. I will ask questions, not from my side—I no longer have any personal stake in this. I focus on the facts and observe where the country is heading. However, for the public, he is obligated to explain some of his positions—why he dismissed the prime minister twice, who was corrupt. We know that it was partially due to corruption, but then he reinstated him... then he placed him in a new position, and later appointed the most unpopular person as the prime minister. Therefore, he should clarify what he intends before the elections", - said Salome Zourabishvili.
