The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, announced at the government meeting that the Republic of China has decided to establish visa-free travel with Georgia. According to his statement, "This is the most important decision, which will make traveling to China easier for Georgian citizens and create new opportunities to develop political, economic, and cultural ties between the countries."

"The Republic of China has decided to introduce a visa-free travel regime for Georgian citizens. Citizens of Georgia will be able to spend 30 days in China without a visa. This is an important decision that will make traveling to China easier for our fellow citizens and will create new opportunities for further development of political, economic, and cultural ties between Georgia and China. This decision is another important practical result of the strategic partnership agreement signed between Georgia and China last year. I want to congratulate our compatriots and thank our Chinese friends, the Chinese authorities for this important decision," Prime Minister Kobakhidze said.

The Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, soon responded to the information announced at the session of the Government of Georgia and said that the news "underlines China's attitude towards the Georgian people and Georgia."

"There are not many countries that have visa-free travel with China. The fact that China made this decision regarding Georgia emphasizes their attitude towards the Georgian people and Georgia, towards our strategic partnership, which is still young in this regard, although it has already produced many such results. First of all, it is very important for our citizens. You know that the strength of the Georgian passport is increasing year by year. Therefore, I call on all countries, especially our strategic partners, to introduce a visa-free regime for Georgia. 3.5 million people live in Georgia. I don't think there are so many of us that any country would have any question marks towards us and fear that there will be an excessive migration to one or another country. For cultural connections, for connections between people, visa-free travel is of special importance. We saw, after the European Union opened its borders to us visa-free, what opportunities were given to our young people and citizens - to travel to the European Union, study and thus get closer to the citizens of the EU member states. When other countries take such a decision, it will further strengthen the relationship between countries and peoples. It also implies the intensity of economic relations when the traffic between the countries is easy. This facilitates contacts and connections, which will then grow and translate into economic relations and more investments in Georgia," said the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia.
