According to a statement from the administration of the President of Georgia, President Zourabishvili will veto the amendments to the elecotral code. The statement says that the adopted changes are in contradiction with the recommendations of the Venice Commission and the European Union. 

"Instead of the head and members of the election commission being selected and elected by broad consensus, the process of staffing the CEC has become completely fictitious, adjusted only to the political interests of the ruling party. There is a risk that the elections could be conducted by a one-party, biased, and ruling party-controlled electoral administration, leading to mistrust in the process both within the public and the international community. As she has stated many times, the President of Georgia will veto the "amendments to the Electoral Code," as well as any law that is not in line with the European path of the country," - the statement from the administration of the President of Georgia asserts."
