"I can't comment on this matter," is how the chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, responded to the media's question regarding the death of the Russian oppositionist, Alexei Navalny, in prison.

Mamuka Mdinaradze, the chairman of the Georgian Dream faction, commented to the media, saying, "Navalny reminds us of hundreds of prisoners who died in prison before 2012".

"The well-founded doubts, to say the least, about the reasons for his death, of course, are sad. At the same time, we should not forget that it also reminds us very sadly of the hundreds of prisoners who died in our prisons before 2012. This is even more of a disaster in the context of our country, and if we look at it from this perspective. Hundreds of our prisoners died in such an uncertain situation, and this regime is served today by television stations, politicians, experts, some representatives of ENGEO. This is the paradox of our country. Mikheil Saakashvili is the person who created a system in which hundreds of people died under unknown circumstances. If he has even a shred of morality, how can he dare to make this comparison, especially when this criminal, Saakashvili, is now serving his sentence in a two-room suite? Please, take a moment to google the type of cell in which Navalny was held during his imprisonment. Place the two photos side by side and observe the visual differences between them. There is no greater immorality and exploitation than comparing Navalny and Saakashvili, the architect of a system where prisoners perish in uncertain circumstances," - said one of the leaders of the "Georgian Dream".
