According to the administration of the President of Georgia, President Salome Zurabishvili has signed a decree appointing Irakli Kobakhidze as the Prime Minister. The statement also asserts that the president made the swift decision to ensure that the fight against natural disasters faces no obstacles, allowing timely issuance of appropriate measures and responses.

At the end of the February 8 parliamentary session, the deputies expressed confidence in the Georgian government led by Irakli Kobakhidze with 84 votes. Before the vote, the deputies listened to the government program of Irakli Kobakhidze, and the prime minister candidate answered questions from the parliament members. According to the Prime Minister of Georgia, his first official visit as the head of the government will be to Brussels.
