In Tbilisi, Nika Melia and Gigi Ugulava, both leaders of the Coalition for Changes, were reportedly arrested during a demonstration near the Tbilisi Mall shopping center.

Social media and various news outlets have also reported that Giorgi Kirtadze, another Coalition for Changes leader, and Dimitri Bidzinashvili, a member of the UNM, were allegedly detained at the same protest.

On February 2 at 16:00, a plan was in place to consolidate protest marches near the Tbilisi Mall and block the Digomi road for several hours.

On the 67th day of ongoing protests, police began detaining citizens at the demonstration around 6 PM, although traffic on the highway remained open at that time.

At the moment detentions commenced, police partially occupied the road, allowing citizens to use only one lane. Following the announcement of this protest, the government swiftly enacted a law that criminalized road blockages. Prior to the protest, the Ministry of Internal Affairs issued two warnings.
