On the night of January 15, in Batumi, the leader of the "For Georgia" party, Giorgi Gakharia, was attacked by a member of the "Georgian Dream" party, Dimitri Samkharadze, along with his associates.

Physical violence was also inflicted on journalist Zviad Koridze. According to Zviad Koridze, Georgian Dream MPs Dimitri Samkharadze and Adjara Supreme Council MP Giorgi Manvelidze participated in the attack. Journalist and Transparency International Georgia regional office manager Zviad Koridze states that representatives of the "Georgian Dream" party approached him in the hotel lobby. They first spoke with him before verbally and physically assaulting him.

"I was sitting in a chair, and a little further away, there were several tables on the opposite side where people were drinking. There was no communication between us until a young man came from one of the tables, brought me a drink, and wished me a happy new year. He said, 'I know you; you are Zviad Koridze.' I asked, 'Do you know me?' He replied, 'I am Giorgi Manvelidze.' That was the end of our communication, and then we returned to the table," recalls Zviad Koridze.

Representatives of the "For Georgia" party have issued an official statement, claiming that the attack on their leader and former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia was organized by the Bidzina Ivanishvili regime.

In a post published on Platform X, Gakharia's party describes the attack as a coordinated, group, and brutal assault. On his official Facebook page, Giorgi Gakharia addressed the public: "Thank you very much to each of you for your support. In terms of health, I am fine. Today, first of all, illegal prisoners need our support. The rest can wait."
