Re-conducting the elections under the guidance of an international electoral administration is the demand of the opposition parties, who are addressing tens of thousands of citizens in front of the parliament building, protesting the rigging of the elections.
By mutual agreement, the opposition parties refuse parliamentary mandates and reject the declaration of the October 26 elections as legitimate. According to one of the leaders of the "Strong Georgia" coalition, Ana Natsvlishvili, the opposition is also demanding that the voter lists be made public within 24 hours. She stated that the voter lists are a black box through which the results were rigged.
"No one expected that on the morning of October 27, Ivanishvili would come out and congratulate you on your victory. The main question in the 2024 elections was not who would enter parliament and who would receive a parliamentary mandate. Each of us had to answer the key question: where will Georgia be on the geopolitical map? Will we be part of the Russian swamp or the West? Neither Russian money will flow into this country, nor will Ivanishvili be allowed to act with impunity, nor will we lower the proud flag of Georgia," Nika Melia, the leader of the "Akhali" party, addressed the protest participants.
"On October 26, it was not Russia that won, but Europe, and the freedom-loving Georgian people triumphed," noted Tina Bokuchava, the leader of the "National Movement" party. She emphasized that "now is not the time for differences, because the country can only be saved through unity."
