The "MEGOBARI Act" will broadly promote stability in Georgia and Eastern Europe, and we are ready to work together to advance this bill, according to a joint statement by U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman, Senator Jim Risch (Republican Party), and the committee’s Democratic leader, Senator Jeanne Shaheen (Democratic Party).
The joint statement follows the committee’s approval of several legislative measures on March 27, including the "MEGOBARI Act."
“The ‘MEGOBARI Act’ will play a broader role in promoting stability in Georgia and Eastern Europe… As the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee [Jim Risch] and a senior-ranking member [Jeanne Shaheen], we are prepared to work together to advance this and other effective legislation during our time in office,” the statement reads.
