globalnews.ge conducted an interview with the US Ambassador to the OSCE, who stated that there is a lot of anti-Western propaganda in Georgia. The ambassador expressed: "I know there's a lot of anti-Western propaganda, a lot of narratives on social media, including through traditional media as well. It's not always clear where this is coming from, but what is clear is that there are some actors who are clearly trying to undermine the image of the West. In Georgia, there are certain actors which are trying to embellish, not so much the image of, say, the Russian Federation. I think the narrative is actually a little bit more nuanced than that. I think that the predominant narrative coming from the Russian side has been that Russia is a neighbor that's not going away, and that Georgia needs to accommodate itself to Russia's interests because this is how it's always been and this is how it will always be. So it's trying to undercut the steadfast support for Euro-Atlantic integration and for the values and principles that have been the hallmark of Georgia's policy for a long time now. We do see that disinformation, and it does have to be actively combated; otherwise, it begins to take on a life of its own."
