The West is currently engaged in discussions about broadening the list of individuals sanctioned in response to the political crisis in Georgia and the violent actions against peaceful protesters. The United States has already implemented sanctions on approximately 20 individuals, which include senior officials from the Georgian Dream, such as ministers, members of parliament, and personnel from law enforcement and security agencies.
Estonia and Lithuania have also imposed sanctions on 14 Georgian officials, including Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
At today’s meeting of EU foreign ministers, Georgia was highlighted as a key topic of discussion, with EU member states set to consider further sanctions against senior officials from the Georgian Dream.
